Item Specifics

ATU-130 is used as a part of amateur radio equipment amplifier or transceiver, or as a separate device that performs the function of matching the output impedance of the power amplifier (PA) with the antenna feeder. This device contains a set of 7 inductors and 7 capacitors, which can effectively cover the wideband radio amateur shortwave range from 1.8 MHz to 50 MHz.

Simple instructions:

Before use, the antenna needs to be well grounded, and the RF inlet of the antenna is connected to the RF outlet of the short-wave machine with a radio frequency wire.

The RF outlet of the antenna is connected to the antenna (Recommended to set up a height of 3-6 meters above the ground and a length of 7-22 meters above 4 square meters. It is
recommended to take lightning protection measures at high places, such as lightning rods).

Connect to the antenna power plug (12~15VDC, generally shared with the shortwave machine).

Switch on the power of the short-wave machine, switch on the power of the antenna, and the equipment self-check shows normal.
Adjust the shortwave transmitter to the operating frequency, set the working mode to AM, FM, CW, or FT8, RTTY, etc. (the mode that can provide continuous carrier), press the shortwave transmitter or CW key to trigger the transmission, 10W power continuous transmission, At this time, the antenna tuning starts to adjust automatically. When the standing wave is less than 1.5, the antenna turner will automatically stop tuning and stop transmitting. At this time, at the current frequency point, change the shortwave radio to the mode that will work, and you can use it with high power.

When switching frequency bands, the tuning operation needs to be performed again.

If the antenna turner is not within 1.5, you can press the TUNE button to reset the tuning and repeat the above tuning process again until the standing wave reaches within 1.5.

If it is still not tuned, the impedance of the antenna feed system may exceed the tuning range of the antenna, or check the grounding.

If there is no tuning action on the antenna: check whether the cable is connected to Block M well, whether the antenna is in automatic mode, whether the shortwave machine is in the correct mode, whether the tuning power reaches the trigger condition (more than 5W), and whether the antenna is faulty.

Note: When the antenna is not tuned or the standing wave is less than 1.5, do not transmit with high power, which may damage the equipment!

Package include

1 x ATU130 Automatic Antenna Tuner
1 x Power cable
